I can accept this statement from an African Anglican Archbishop. However as an American, I wonder if we might be surprised at the people we don’t find in heaven. How low do we think His standards are?

Yes, God has a "soft spot for sinners" and that's why He gave His Son.
God's Holy standards cost Him the blood of His Son.
That blood covers our confessed sin, enabling us to make it to heaven.
Pretty high standards if you ask me.
