WWYD? What would you do?
I watched Stranger Than Fiction last night. Thought is was a great movie,- boo to those critics. But now I have to ask, Would you knowingly give your life so that a stranger could live?

You have to put it in perspective. This man lived a meaningless, empty existance. It was in this moment that his life found meaning. He also knew the entire circumstances of the situation. In that case, choosing is easier when you know for sure the greater good is served...it's doing it on the fly, running out in traffic on a whim to grab a kid, jumping into a freezing river to save someone out of a crashed airplane, running into burning buildings even when you are told not to...that's when you really exhibit faith and sacrifice.
I can only hope that I would, if circumstances arose, be as heroic and faithful, and lay down my life for another.
Just watched the Last King of Scotland and the guy at the end who sacrifices his life for the doctor...well...wow...that he would be willing to sacrifice his life for a guy who clearly is undeserving with no guarantee that it will actually make a difference...wow
I agree with Joey- I can only hope that when such a circumstance came about that I would move with such chivalry. Life on the other side of this one is much more exciting and wonderful than this one can ever imagine to be.
